Elgin Medi-Transport began on June 20th, 1977 with two people, including
founder and owner, Pat Crawford. As one of the first class of 16
EMT/Paramedics in the greater Elgin area, Pat has seen Elgin Medi-Transport,
Inc. grow to include over 30 employees. But the distinction of having
one of the
first EMTs in the area is just part of what sets Elgin Medi-Transport above
the rest of the competition. Elgin Medi-Transport was the first used exclusively by
Sherman Hospital's Intra Aortic Balloon Pump Cardiac Transport Team. They pride themselves on their
equipment. Over five years ago, Elgin Medi-Transport was the first
provider in the Greater Elgin Area to place 12 lead cardiac monitors in all
their ambulances, which has now become the new standard among all
ambulances.
Outside of their equipment, Elgin Medi-Transport uses premium linens that
they wash and iron themselves. When it comes to the patients, Elgin
Medi-Transport is a people-first company. They have to be. "Treat every patient like a member of your family," says Pat.
